What a surprise!!!

Our niece, Tammy, came to visit tonight. She flew in from Texas yesterday and is driving back home tomorrow. She was here picking up a car at her parents house in Anderson, and the three of them stopped by for a visit. What a thrill it was to see her after all these years. She has always held a special place in our hearts and she is as precious as ever.
It would be so nice if they would move back to Indiana.......hint, hint, hint :)

We love you Tammy!!!

Kindergarten sign up day

Here are 2 of our little 'angels'. Katie is on the left and Megan on the right.

Today was Megan's kindergarten sign up day. Katie stayed with Papaw and Nana while mommy and daddy took Megan to school.Megan was so excited to find out who her teacher was going to be and to also have her picture taken at school. Doesn't she look beautiful??
Katie was such a good girl today. We had lots of fun playing together. She loved
being on the front porch and rocking in the big wooden rocker.

Great Weekend

This weekend was Haitian weekend and we went and had a great time. Here are a few pics of some of our 'highlights'.
This first pic is of Wayne. Papaw was trying to sneek to the cabin to get some rest and the girls spotted him. Needless to say, he never did make it to the cabin!

We were sitting around Spike and Lori's camper one evening. This is Spike (right) and Bob in deep conversation. They both look a little frazzled...it was a long hot day!!
Here goes Ruby slippin' and sliddin' down the hill!
Kiara is stiff as a board as she 'gracefully' glides down
Here's the little show off. She's gotta be grinning as she makes sure everyone is watching her.
SMILE AND WAVE BOYS....JUST SMILE AND WAVE :)
Here is a pic of Brit and Grandpa. He kept threatening her that he would embaress her this weekend. She was holding her breath, I am sure. He didn't, but there is always next year!!

Here's Johnny!!!!

Johnny made it into Indy Thursday night, well really Friday morning at 1:00 am. Spike, Lori, Mirlande. Wayne and I were there to welcome him in. It was so funny cause this has been an extremely hot, hot week. High 90's and terrible humidity.
We met with Spike, Lori and Mirlande at a restaurant around 10pm before going to airport. Mirland was sitting in the restaurant with a hooded sweatshirt and long pants on. To top that off, she had a blanket wrapped around her.
Well, here we go to the airport and Johnny gets off the plane with a winter coat on!!! It was so funny. He had one carry on suitcase and then he said he had another suitcase that we had to go and claim. When we got down there we found out that it didn't make it there and Lori had to go to the airport Friday morning(before noon) and pick it up. Well, when you have a carry on bag, what do you put in it? Extra set of clothes, toiletries, other important stuff, right?
Not Johnny....
all he had in his was a blanket and extra jacket. hehehe
All I can say is thank you Johnny for giving me great blog material :)
WE LOVE YOU JOHNNY!!!

Mirlande's first U S visit!

Today Barb (right) flew in, and this time Mirlande got to come too. She finally got a visa. Haitian camp is this weekend and we are thrilled she got to make it. Lori picked them up at the airport, they went and had lunch and came over to visit. Mirlande had to see her 'Daddy' (what she calls Wayne). Johnny is coming in tonight at midnight. We will all be at the airport to greet him when he gets here.

Fun day at the park!!

This is little miss Katie. She just sat right at my feet almost all the time we were at the park. She kept telling me she was "shy" and she didn't want to play. Well, as we got closer to leaving she loosened up a bit. Lori was snapping pictures left and right of all the kids. When Katie saw her taking pictures she would hide. Lori started playing peek a boo behind a tree and she got into that. (Lori and Katie...hehehe) This was the result and i think it is priceless!!!

Here is my beautiful granddaughter Brit, looking extremely bored. She had fun today, but I am sure she would rather had spent the day with friends at the mall or doing something "teenagey" .
(i just made up that word, but i am sure you know what i mean) LOL

This morning we got up, got ready and met Lori and the girls in Noblesville. We went to a real nice park near Lori's home. The girls had so much fun. After a few hours of playing we headed off to Cicero and went to a pizza place. The girls loved that, and I did too. They were all so good.
We left there and I took the girls back to their house.
Anyone that knows me knows i stay up very late at night. Not tonight...I was in bed at 10:00. They wore me out, but i loved every minute of it.

Sleepover

Today I took Megan to get her hair cut for school. Later, I asked Aaron and Sharon to bring Katie and let the girls both spend the night. We had so much fun. They were perfect little angels, as usual!
They were excited cause I told them when they woke up the next morning we were going to meet Aunt Lori and the girls and go to the park.

Aaron-we are so proud of you!

Baby Boy :)

This is our good-looking son, Aaron. He bought this bus and completely remodeled it, inside and out. Aaron, we are soooo very proud of you!!

It is so neat the way he can look at something not so good and see what it could be...

kind of how God looks at us, i imagine.

This is a picture of the bus when he bought it.

This is a picture of the bus after he painted it. Doesn't it look nice?

This is one picture of the inside. Aaron has put in new cabinets, sink and counter top.
Has put in hardwood floors.
The two couches (grey/burgundy) he designed and made himself out of wood, then he had them upholstered. on the left just past the couch, is a table and charis, then black/chrome full size fridge. the cylinder straight ahead is a big full size shower. this motor coach has a huge bathroom. full size toilet, sink w/ vanity, medicine cabinets, etc. there is also lots of room in the bathroom for changing and moving around. on the ceiling he has rope lighting, so pretty at night! down the hall is bunk bed for the girls, and in the back a queen size bed for him and Sharon, plus washer and dryer. We are so proud of him and all that he has done to make it so nice.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

We are praying that next 4th of July Madisyn will be home. Seems like we are getting so frustrated just waiting and waiting, but I know she will be here when she is supposed to be. The phone lines are down in Haiti right now and it has been so long since we talked to Madisyn.
We are getting anxious to go camping again. We are trying to spend as much time as we can with our kids and grandkids. We hope we will be able to camp with all of our kids and grandkids soon.

Great Weekend!!

We just got home today from a 4 night camping trip with friends and family. We had a wonderful time. The weather turned out to be beautiful and fellowship was great. The grandkids made a b-line over to our camper as soon as they woke up in the mornings for a 'snack'. Glad i came prepared! lol
I wish my son and his family could have been there with us, but we are all planning another camping trip in a couple of weeks and I am already getting excited. We are praying Madisyn will get home before bad weather so we can introduce her to the 'joys of camping'. It's gonna be so much fun to watch her experience new things for the first time. I pray she's as excited as we are. The phonelines have been down for a few days in Haiti and we are beginning to have withdrawls. We want to hear her voice so bad. Wayne dials the number about every half hour to try and get through. He's even got them on speed dial now...hehehe

Look Madisyn, NO SNOW!!

Here is a picture of our house(Madisyn's room is at the top in front). The last picture of our home on the blog was taken in the winter and the snow was deep. I want Madisyn to know we do have nice weather too. She was thinking that she was going to live in a place that was cold all the time. Oh, poor baby!!! She probably thought we lived in an igloo. :)
Our porch is our santuary. We spend a lot of time out there and we love it! This is the home we raised our 2 kids in and the home that welcomes the grandkids with much love when they come through the door. We have been here about 35 years.
